How the Fund Works
The biggest barrier to creating future primary employers in Kansas is the lack of early capital. This “first-money-in” is where many high-potential companies stall out — long before traditional investors get involved.
Minimum Contribution
The Fund accepts contributions of $20,000 or more. Each contribution includes a charitable portion that supports entrepreneur training and pipeline development, with the remaining portion allocated to investment capital.
Investment Committee
The Investment Committee evaluates each graduate only on:
Customer insights
Problem/solution clarity
Communication quality (deck + video)
Thoughtfulness of early product design
Governance
CORE manages the Fund
Donor-investors have no voting or management rights
Investment decisions by the Investment Committee
All operations follow CORE’s policies
Allocation Structure
Contributions between $20,000 and $50,000 are divided 50% charitable donation / 50% investment capital. For contributions above $50,000, the allocation shifts to 80% charitable donation / 20% investment capital.
Return of Capital
Investors first receive the amount they contributed to the Investment Fund.
Once capital is returned:
80% of the carry goes to investors
20% goes to CORE
